6 Silly Mistakes to Avoid in Your AdWords Campaign

In today’s world, internet marking is vital to the development of a growing business. Many internet markers often choose pay-per-click (PPC) advertising as the means to market their products and services. PPC advertising is an efficient and effective way to drive unique traffic to any websites.

Through the implementation of well-placed, keyword-based pay-per-click ads, Web marketers can quickly and economically benefit from more leads, thus increasing earnings in a short period of time.

Several Internet marketers, however, while setting up their PPC campaigns, make some silly and sometimes not-so-silly mistakes with pay-per-click programs. Some common mistakes includes; failing in to test, mistakes when developing or creating the ads, Fake or fraud click detection etc. But to increase revenue earnings efficiently and effectively these mistakes should be minimized as much as possible.

Here are some of the most common PPC advertising campaign mistakes that should be avoided at all cost in order to achievement a successful Adwords ad campaign:

1. The use of broad search keywords terms
One fundamental mistake web marketers should try to avoid as much as possible is running their PPC Adwords campaign with broad search keywords terms.
These types of terms and keywords are not recommended solely because competition is tough for broad search keywords terms or generic keywords, therefore, it’s difficult for your ads to rank well in search results. The aim of a PPC campaign is to achieve results, so, it’s essential to limit your PCC keywords to search terms which your prospective customers are using to find your business.

2. Failing to put keywords in the ad copy

Failing to put the relevant and appropriate keywords in their ad copy is another error that several Web marketers make daily. However, it’s imperative to put keywords in your ad copy because it improves the probability of your ads getting clicked on to a greater extent. Always ensure that you put your keywords in the title of your ad, even though, sometimes this can be difficult, due to character limits. One thing I usually do is insert the keywords in the ad description when I’m affected by character limitations.

3. Not tracking the ROI by keyword
It’s essential that you track every click from your Adword campaign by ad group, keyword term, and campaign if your desire is to achieve exceptional results. In order to calculate the ROI correctly and the effectiveness of the keywords in your ad campaign; it is recommended that unique tracking URLs that easily integrates with any website analytics program be created.

4. Using the same campaign for both display ads and search ads

Many PPC internet marketers tend to make the mistake of using the same ad campaign for both search ads and display ads. It’s extremely important to note, however, that both search and display ad areas are dissimilar to each other and your customers will have different reaction to both areas. While display ads should be attractive and full of substance, search ads should be crisp, short and very convincing.

5. Ignoring your competition
Identify your competition is a key factor when starting and maintaining any business. A crucial part to internet marking success is identifying your competition and then raising your bar high than competitors. Therefore, pay-per-click marketers should always check the pay-per-click ads of their competitors to avoid duplicating anything they’re already doing.

6. Failing to create a good ad

Finally, creating high quality ads is very important, so, if you’re just going to create worthless ads, then that certainly would be a waste of time. You will not generate much leads or increase your revenue. Ensure that your ads make complete sense to the terms and keywords you chose and also, whatever keywords you use are noticeable in your ad copy.
